Egyptian eye of Horus PENDANT
The history of the eye of Horus
This eye of Horus, also frequently called "eye Udjat", represents the eye of the falcon god Horus.
In Egyptian mythology, the god Set takes the power in Egypt after murdering his brother Osiris, the father of Horus. Wanting to avenge Osiris, Horus goes to war against his uncle. At the end of many battles, Set is defeated and Horus takes again the throne of Egypt.
However, during a battle, Horus loses an eye. This eye, broken into 6 pieces, is reconstituted and improved by the ibis-headed god Thoth and returned to its owner. The Udjat eye is born and became the symbol of the victory of good over evil.
The Egyptian eye
The eye of Horus was used in Egypt as a kind of lucky charm. Ancient Egyptians also thought that this eye was capable of keeping them in great physical condition.
The eye of Horus and the eye of Ra
As you can see on the image below, the eyes of Horus and Ra are very similar, but one thing opposes them: each of them is the reflection of the other.

Our eye of Horus necklaces for women
Of course ladies, we haven't forgotten you! If you are rather coquettish and are looking for the perfect eye of Horus pendant, you are in the appropriate place.
Egyptian symbol necklace
Today, the eye of Horus is one of the famous symbol of ancient Egypt (if not the most famous one). Indeed, only the ankh cross and the winged scarab can be seen as symbols as legendary as the Udjat eye.
Yet, the eye of Horus, the eye which symbolize bravery, integrity and health, is definitely a nice choice when we speak of necklaces (you can also have a look to our Egyptian rings which include some with the intriguing eye of Horus).
